Queenstown Millennium Reviews
We enjoyed our stay. The Millennium Queenstown was fully renovated in 2006; this
is a major plus especially for those people (such as me) whose major concern is
the modern amenities. Our room is 31 sq m in size and it has marble bathroom with
new toilet which is impressive. There are also four other luxurious guest toilets
in this hotel; one on the second floor (the floor we stayed), one near the hotel
restaurant (third floor), and two on the fifth floor (one is in the health club).
There are plentiful soaps, napkins and hand towels in all of the guest toilets and
they are very impressive. If modern bathroom and toilet are your concern, this hotel
will certainly not disappoint you when it comes to these.
My friend and I have just had two nights at this hotel, and all we can say is what
excellent service we received from EVERY member of staff. Every one it seemed wanted
to go out of their way to deal with every request we made. When we checked in we
needed our room alot earlier than rooms are normally available, the manager at check
in got the women in charge of servicing the rooms to go and check that there was
a room already available for us, and there was. Once we had checked out, we wanted
to leave our car parked for another hour or so in their carpark and that was no
problem. The bar tender was really polite and chatted about the day in general.
The staff at this hotel were great, each one of them making our stay a real pleasure.
My wife and I stayed at the Millennium for four nights. It is an excellent choice
for a moderate - priced hotel in Queenstown. The hotel is located somewhat above
the centre of town, across the road from the Copthorne, a sister hotel in the same
chain. It is a pleasant and easy 10-minute walk to the waterfront and to the main
shopping and entertainment area. The Millennium is nicely designed so all rooms
face either inward toward a central courtyard or outward toward the lake or the
mountains. Our room (#509) faced the courtyard, but the fifth floor is high enough
that we also had views of the Remarkables and peek-a-boo views of the lake. The
hotel has a beautiful marble-clad entrance and lobby. Off to one side on the same
floor is the large and attractive hotel restaurant where we had our buffet breakfast
(excellent). All in all, we think the Millennium was very comfortable and an excellent
value.
