Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Package price the total price or the per person price?

The Package price is the TOTAL price of your holiday and is the sum of the individual costs for each person. If your party comprises children or seniors, it includes all avaiable discounts and special offers for these people.

Does the quote include flights?

Ski New Zealand holidays deliberately do not include airfares as we find that customers can almost always get better deals by purchasing their fare directly from the airline companies, or by using their frequent flyer / airpoint credits.

What is the arrangement for picking up passes and equipment?

Once the package is paid in full, you will be sent vouchers for all the components of your package. The vouchers will detail the instructions and locations where you can exchange these vouchers. Equipment hire can only be collected and returned from Guest Services on the mountain.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Booking cancelled 35- days or more prior to the commencement of your holiday Cancellation Fee: 10% of the land cost of the holiday
  • Booking cancelled 0-34 days or more prior to the commencement of your holiday Cancellation Fee: 100% of the land cost of the holiday

Please ensure that you arrange comprehensive travel insurance for your holiday as during the winter months flights are often disrupted and additional costs may be incurred when re-arranging your holiday plans at short notice.

Can I pre book night skiing?

Night skiing is subject to the weather conditions and is decided on a night-by-night basis. Tickets can only be purchased on the day from Guest Services and is only available at Coronet Peak ski field.

Can goggles, hats, gloves and helmets be hired?

No, due to hygiene reasons these are not able to be hired. These items can however be purchased at all ski fields for very reasonable prices.

Do you charge to make changes to the booking?

Ski New Zealand Online charges a $NZ 100.00 amendment fee per change event. This means that if we need to make multiple changes, you are only charged one fee, provided that they are all requested at the same time.

Are meals included?

With the exception of breakfasts, that can be pre-purchaded for some properties, we do not include meals in our packages. There are a wide variety of restaurants and dining options in each city.

How long does it take to get to the ski fields?

  • Queenstown to Coronet Peak is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Queenstown
  • Queenstown to The Remarkables is approximately 45 minutes from downtown Queenstown
  • Methven to Mount Hutt is approximately 35 minutes from central Methven
  • Wanaka to Treble Cone is approximately 35 minutes from central Wanaka
  • Wanaka to Cardrona is approximately 35 minutes from central Wanaka

What are the driving distances between Christchurch and Queenstown/Wanaka/Methven?

  • Christchurch - Queenstown is 486km and approximately 7 hours
  • Christchurch - Wanaka is 424km and approximately 6 hours and 5 minutes
  • Christchurch - Methven 123km and approximately 1 hours and 45 minutes

Please note these times are indicative only and winter weather conditions can affect driving times.

What time are the lessons?

10.20am and 1.50pm daily. They are 1 hour and 50 minutes in duration.

Do I need travel insurance?

We recommend you purchase travel insurance through your local travel agent or insurance provider.
