It is an extremely peaceful setting - the perfect antidote if you are stressed out
from work / long flights, etc. The silence is fabulous. The lake-side villa we stayed
in was lovely - 2 storey, back patio and balcony direct onto the lake, high quality
furniture / linens / fittings. The bed is extremely comfortable - a nice touch to
have individual electric blankets on each side. It was quite chilly while we were
there (0C), and the central heating kept up (indeed, we had to turn it off because
it was too toasty, so no complaints). The bathroom is of very high quality - really
nice first thing in the morning to have peaceful views over the water through white
timber venetian blinds. We had both dinner and a la carte breakfast - each was very
good.
Arrived at this Resort after hearing great things about it and we were also curious
to see it after seeing it many times on TV ( NZ top Golf competitions played here).
Overall our stay was great. One of the nicest properties we've stayed at and the
grounds were really well maintained with walkways, putting green (plus the main
feature - International level golf course), restaurant and bar. to name a few. We
could have spent more time here for sure. Only five minutes to Christchurch Airport
so very handy. This Resort is deserving of it's 5-star status and well worth a visit.
We stayed here for 3 nights and just adored it. Not sure about the standard rooms
but the Lakeview villas were amazing. Great quality bedding, huge couches, huge
bed, 2 TVs, huge bathroom with separate wc, equipped kitchen, dishwasher, private
secure parking, washing machine, breadmaker (random!!!), large decked private sunbathing
patio area, upstairs patio and many many more features. I want to return to Christchurch
again just to stay there!!!
