Alpine Motel Reviews
We had a wonderful stay! Real value for Money - Although an older complex, our unit
was nicely decorated offering a better than expected experience than the outside
appearance would indicate. The Alpine was lovely & clean with hospitable hosts just
like they offer in their marketing slogan of 'Clean, comfortable & hospitality assured"
We were happy with the fact that we were able to prepare meals in a spacious unit
and walk to town! - we felt we'd made a good decision to stay at this property.
(so many of the newer ones do not offer these benefits.) Our unit had been recently
refurbished so the bathroom had been re-vamped since the last time we visited Wanaka.
I suppose the owners cannot refurbish all units every year.
The motel is well located. It is next to the funky little cinema, and a short walk
from the shops, restaurants and lakefront. In the main living area was a large bed
(possibly king-size), plus a dining table and chairs, a couple of wood-framed arm-chairs
and a TV. The separate bedroom had twin beds and a built-in wardrobe. The kitchen
and bathroom were compact but had everything you'd need. The motel grounds were
very well kept, and their flowerbeds were gorgeous.
The Manager was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and affordable.
Location very convenient; the Department of Conservation's National Park visitor
centre is across the street (a busy highway), next door is a great Indian restaurant,
down the street is a supermarket, a 5 min. walk away is a great viewpoint of Lake
Wanaka, the waterfront and main drag is a 15 min. walk down a pretty streamside
park with trout!
